'TOP TEN' Einstein quotes for missions and church planting

Many Albert Einstein sayings and quotes are highly applicable to missions and church planting. The following are my "top ten" favorites...

10. "The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them."

9. "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

8. "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

7. "The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them."

6. "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds."

5.  "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."

4. "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."

3. "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

2. "The important thing is not to stop questioning."

1. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

Have any other favorites or comments about any of the above you'd like to share?

ANDREW--thanks for stopping by!

Good post Guy! As you know I am a storyteller not a quote guy. Einstein always had prospective assistance over for dinner before hiring them. If they salted their food before they tried it he would not hire them because he said they had their minds made up already.

cpmcoach- I would love to see such a blog but I am sure that there would be opposition for reasons of the story I just told.

Sorry, that should have read 'assistants' not 'assistance'
and yes, I think we should have a conversation on house church and CP in spite of opposition to new ideas.

CPMcoach--Sounds like you just might be the person to start up a "simple" or "house church" blog! There are several out there, but my complaint is that most post too sporadically. Maybe you and several others might join together and share the responsibility of posting regularly on the topic. How 'bout it?

STRIDER--We have a South American church planting forum that discusses hc and cp issues all the time. You'd be welcome to join if interested. Write me guymuse@bigfoot.com if you think you'd like to join the more than 100 mostly IMB M from S. America.

Wow. Those are great. I've heard a few of those, but some were totally new. You are spot on!

Great, thanks! Here are four more that I like:

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Logics will get you from A to B, Imagination will take you everywhere.

Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer than most.
— Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

David,

Thanks for stopping by and for the additions to the list! While all four all applicable to missions and church planting, the last one is particularly true. Stick-to-itness is a characteristic greatly needed by us all over the long haul.

Excuse me if I haven't quite grasped the intention of this post as I have merely stumbled here and started to read. Your title caught my eye and I noticed an incompatibility in its method. As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm for Einstein, you do know he was not religious in the classical sense, i.e. he did not believe in a theistic God? Therefore I find that using his quotations for missions and church planting a little bit contradictory...
