House Church Baptisms

In January 2007, on Super Bowl Sunday, three of the Guayaquil house churches got together for a joint baptism service at a nearby river about an hour out of town (slide show length 1:37).

NOTE: Please turn up computer speakers more than normal to be able to hear the audio track which was recorded at too low of a volume.

  3. Thanks for sharing the video, Guy. I passed it along to our church staff to view as well. I enjoyed the "corito" in the background as well.

  4. WoW did that produce a wide range of emotions in me. I was thrilled as I began to watch. I am excited for the new disciples; I am excited for the believers operating in every aspect of their priesthood. I am excited to think about what is next for this entire group...but then I felt like a person who wants to have children, being happy for a family who just had a baby. This motivates me to do all I can so that one day I will have the joy of seeing new disciples being baptized.

Rock on Guy, thanks for the encouragement!

  7. Amanda, Tim, Kevin, Gary, Jeff,

Thanks for the encouraging words. To God be the Glory great things He continues to do in our midst.

    Darrell,

It produces emotion in us as well. It is indeed like having children. You get them with all their baggage, their ups and downs, but when all is said and done it is worth it all. BTW: two of the three churches baptizing are brand new works (outreach groups) that with these baptisms are now churches. All those baptizing are lay leaders, most of whom are baptzing people they themselves have led to the Lord.

    Negrito,

Me hace llorar tambien porque se de algo que han vivido estas personas muchas de las cuales tu tambien conoces! Our daughter, Anna, was anxious to know if C & I had seen her picture in the last frame as it ends, the one with her and several other girls playing in the water? We are working and praying that there will be many more new faces coming to know the Lord throughout this year.

  9. Guy, love the pictures of baptisms. My family and I will be in South Asia by the end of the year with IMB. We look forward to seeing and being a part of things like this, and see more of what God is doing in the harvest. Blessings to you and your ministry.

  10. Kiki, Debbie, s.a.m.,

Thanks to all for taking a moment to view the slide show, and thanks Kiki for the phrase that got Debbie to link my post to her blog and s.a.m. for giving me a new missionary blog to follow. I loved the story of your calling s.a.m. and encourage others to click on your site and read for themselves.

  12. Way cool friend. It may be interesting for you to know that we sing that same song in the language of Gondor here in Middle Earth. Can't wait for us all to sing it together.
